Careers and Enterprise

Careers Strategy Guidance

In March 2017, the Birmingham Enterprise Adviser Network was launched with the appointment of 3 Enterprise Coordinators, each of whom is an expert in their field.

  • Guide your school or college’s leadership through the range of possible employer interactions
  • Help you create a strategy for careers, enterprise and employer engagement
  • Connect you with local organisations because they work with your area’s Local Enterprise Partnership
  • Bring local business people from their own personal network to deliver activities

The government’s Careers Strategy published in December 2017 and accompanying statutory guidance for schools published in January 2018 place new responsibilities on schools for delivering high-quality careers provision. The Gatsby Benchmarks, which outline best practice in careers guidance, are at the heart of the Strategy and provide a helpful framework for schools.

Below is an introductory letter and resource pack put together by BEP and The Careers and Enterprise Company. This is to help schools to fulfill their responsibilities in this area.
