Bits and Bobs to update you on!

I hope you had a peaceful weekend. I thought I would bring you up-to-date on various School Improvement things which you may be interested to know.

As you know we are in the middle of preparing to tender for the new BCC School Improvement Contract. Many of you have had support from BEP central over the last 2-3 years and we are always happy to receive your comments as to our effectiveness. If you are able to provide a testimonial about BEP support, please just email us a little something; we will be forever grateful!

As part of my work through BEP I am joining the Teaching School Council West Midlands team as Sub Regional leader of Birmingham Teaching Schools; it is in addition to my BEP role and to be honest has been part of my job. Part of the role includes supporting schools with SSIF bids and co-ordinating the Birmingham bids, so from now on if you are thinking of writing a bid, please could you contact me and I will help all I can.

We are being closely monitored by the DfE on how well we are delivering on SSIF1. We currently have an Education Advisor from the DFE, making 1:1 visits to 3 schools as well as meeting with the project management team. The level of scrutiny is intense. I am already quaking in my shoes as to what will go on if we get SSIF bid 2 over the line!!!

Hey Ho onwards and upwards. Have a good week everyone and if you need us for anything please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
