BEP Blog – Issue 5: Happy Holidays

As we move ever closer to the time of year when we are to be judged I thought it appropriate to highlight a few quotes to help raise your spirits…

“When I think back on the greatest teachers of my life what I remember isn’t the way they prepared me for a standardised test” Barack Obama

“In the top education systems, however measured, it is the excellence of teachers, the support of such excellence and an open debate about the nature of growth towards excellence that matters” John Hattie

“Teaching should be acknowledged as a top profession, some go even further and rate it above all others, become teachers have the ability to unlock the potential of the rest of society” Estelle Mans

And one of my own personal favourites for those of you who have recently developed a nervous twitch:
“It’s hard when you’re up to your armpits in alligators to remember you came here to drain the swamp” Ronald Regan

Please enjoy a most well-earned Easter break and as for me… I am off for a lie down on a darkened narrow boat! See you next term!
