We can offer a combination of or all of the below in your Headteacher recruitment process:

Preparation

  • Initial contact with Chair of Governors
  • First Meeting with whole Governing Body to discuss strategic approach to appointment in terms of school structures and appointment of selection panel

Meetings with the panel members to provide:

  • Support in reviewing key documents to evaluate the schools’ current position and the specific requirements for the role
  • Assistance in drafting the job description and personal specification (templates can be provided)
  • Guidance re salary in line with framework
  • Support in drafting the job advert content
  • Outline decisions about the selection process

Posting vacancy

  • Post vacancy on all appropriate recruitment sites and advertised via BEP website and newsletter as standard
  • Support for Governors in creating a candidate pack to include letter from the governors, poignant information regarding the school and job description and personal specification
  • Receive all applications for shortlisting and invitations to interview

Leading to interview and interview process

  • Attendance at shortlisting meeting to review all applications and provide professional support and advice regarding the most appropriate candidates
  • Inviting successful candidates to interview
  • Support with interview pack preparation 

Interview

  • Attendance and full participation at the interview(s)  

Post-interview

  • Final post-interview meeting with the Governing Body to review applications and make final selection, if appropriate
  • Provision of verbal feedback to all candidates
